JUNE
2010
June
has started with a mixture of some lovely warm days and
some with a little rain, but Filey has a lot of visitors
making the most of the good weather. We have also had some
amazing days on the coast when the horizon look as if it
had been cut in glass. This really is a wonderful
time to visit Filey
for a walk on the beach or along the cliffs.
The
calmer seas of the spring and the wonderful beach for which
Filey Bay is known can be seen in all its glory, and the
beach has been given Blue Flag status again for this year.
In
the shop we serve tea and coffee with local cakes and scones
making an even more relaxing atmosphere. We have many
regular visitors who come for a drink and a chat.
We
display and sell work by local artists who regularly call
into the shop and are pleased to talk about their work and
personally sign their work a customer.
This can be the best time to have a break, and why spend
time in airports to be hassled by possible strikes or volcanic
ash clouds when the real benefits of a break, long weekend
or main holiday can be found in Filey.
We have many returning visitors from Europe, Australia,
Canada and the Far East who all really enjoy visiting Filey
and the area.
Many
of our visitors from the UK have previously taken holidays
abroad and are now really enjoying the friendly welcome
and the beautiful countryside and coast, without the fuss
and aggravation of airport queues, strikes and the airlines.
Have
a great time and make the most of the great outdoors, perhaps
take up bird watching or walking. Here on the coast we have
many visitors attracted by the glorious beach, cliffs and
countryside.
Many
visiting Filey and the area for
the first time have been amazed by the wonderful scenery,
the food and the people. The hospitality is second
to none. We are lucky and proud to live in such an
area and really enjoy meeting visitors to the town and our
shop.
When
you are out and about skin care is very important and we
have some excellent preparations to help, which do not cost
the earth and a little goes a long way.
-
The Night
Cream is excellent applied to the skin
before retiring to bed. The herb comfrey used in this
cream is traditionally known as a cell rejuvenator.
This cream is also excellent as a day cream, for very
dry skin, and for normal skin in the winter.
- The Calendula
Cream is excellent for treating, cuts,
grazes and insect bites as well as being a general moisturizer. It
is also very soothing for sun burn. This is a
water based cream and is paraben free.
